Now a day Puglia is a region in southeastern Italy bordering the Adriatic Sea in the east, the Ionian Sea to the southeast, and the Strait of Otranto and Gulf of Taranto in the south. Its southern portion known as Salento, a peninsula, forms a high heel on the "boot" of Italy. Tourists want to get closer to the historical periods in the present day, the Puglia region in the centuries has witnessed many rulers and its territory has passed the first under Greek domination made him prosperous, until the devastation inflicted by the Goths to people around thousand years ago.
